Kutztown’s Foley Action Track USA Set For Sunday, May 4 Season Opener

Special Grandstand Dedication Ceremony on Opening Night

Kutztown, PA (April 9)–Rich Tobias & Doug Rose are all set to begin their 13th season of heart thumping, adrenaline pumping excitement at Foley Action Track USA on the Kutztown Fairgrounds. The 2025 season opener takes place on Sunday, May 4, kicking off another clay-kickin’ variety of small, medium, and big car competition. Later in the year, yet another mind blowing, first-time-ever at Kutztown appearance will occur by one of the most popular divisions of dirt track racing machines–the Super Late Models are scheduled for a Sunday, September 7 visit to Berks County’s Baddest Bullring!

In addition to the Super Lates, all of the fan-favorite divisions are returning to Foley Action Track USA this season. The Short Track Super Series Modifieds make their third visit on Tuesday, May 27, with a June 10 rain date. Canadian Matt Williamson is the defending race winner, while Mike Gular captured the first STSS win in Kutztown in 2023.

The AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car tour makes a return engagement, as part of the annual Eastern Storm, on Sunday, June 22. Last year’s event featured a scintillating duel for the win, with Logan Seavey barely beating local star Briggs Danner to the checkered flag.

The USAC East Coast Sprint Cars are once again penciled in–twice–on the 2025 schedule. They make their first appearance of the season on Wednesday, July 9 for the Iron Cowboy Classic. The fast and furious non-wing 360 Sprint Cars come back on Sunday, August 17, as part of the Dick Tobias Classic.

The Xtreme Outlaw Midgets will highlight the Wednesday, August 6 show, visiting once again during the annual Kutztown Fair.

Several additional classes and special events make up the Foley Action Track USA calendar for 2025, and it all begins on Sunday, May 4.

An afternoon Matinee program leads off the opening day activities, featuring the winged 270cc Micro Sprints and Xcel 600 Modifieds. Pits open at 11 a.m. for the Matinee event, with cars hitting the track at 12:30 p.m.

The evening portion of motorized mayhem will include the All Pro SpeedSTRs, the Hyper Racing 600 Sprints, along with the All Star & Junior Slingshots.

During the evening’s program, there will be a special ceremony as a section of the grandstand will be dedicated to and named for one of Berks County’s most successful and popular Micro Sprint racers–the late Pete Skias.

Skias, who lost a courageous and hard fought battle with cancer in 2024, competed regularly at the former Kutztown Fair Speedway, before it became Action Track USA. He scored a lone Kutztown triumph on July 25, 2012, winning the 270 feature that night. Despite the fact that he made limited starts on the Action Track USA layout, his success at various Micro Sprint venues throughout the tri-state region made him a 270cc guru and prompted Tobias & Rose to dedicate a section of the stands in his memory. One of Pete’s sons, accomplished racer Nick Skias, was at a loss for words when informed of the dedication plans.

“I’m just completely blown away by this…just don’t know what to say. What a cool gesture and great honor for my dad,” related Skias.

Several members of the Skias family will be in attendance on May 4 when the track unveils the sign bearing Pete’s name and car number over his section of the grandstand.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m., while grandstand gates swing open at 5:00. Warm ups commence at 6:00, with opening ceremonies and qualifying heats immediately following the hot lap sessions.

Adult General Admission is $18, with Senior Citizens enjoying an admission price of $16. Youth between the ages of six and 12 are just $5, and children aged five and under are admitted FREE.

The track is located on the Kutztown Fairgrounds at 144 North Whiteoak Street, Kutztown, PA 19530.

The races at Foley Action Track USA are live streamed as PPV events at DirtTrackDigest.tv.
