Kutztown track has new life under Tobias, Rose

For the former Kutztown Fairgrounds Speedway, it is a new beginning.

Rich Tobias Jr. and Doug Rose have purchased the clay track in the shadows of Kutztown University and will embark on a new promotional venture.

The Tobias and Rose combination acquired Kutztown from the Meitzler family and gave it a new moniker: Action Track USA. Shortly thereafter, realtor Jeffrey Hogue purchased a naming rights sponsorship for 2013.

The name is not all that will change at the Berks County facility.

Tobias and Rose went to work immediately to revamp the speedway. The track has been widened by 20 feet in the corners. In Turn 1 and Turn 2, the infield was pulled in. On the other end of the track, Turn 3 and Turn 4, the track was extended 20 feet out. http://readingeagle.com/article.aspx?id=446252
