Danner is the “Iron Cowboy” at Action Track USA; Snyder Jr stays red hot

Briggs Danner has been a stand out performer at Championship Energy Action Track USA for some time. Danner took his impressive resume to another level on Wednesday night as a large crowd witnessed the first non wing Sprint Car event held at Championship Energy Action Track USA on the Kutztown Fairgrounds with Danner taking the victory. Steve Snyder continued a dream season in the Hyper Racing/ EVO Injection 600 Sprints by winning his third feature event of the season.

Chris Allen showed the field of Usac East Coast 360 Sprint Cars to the green flag for the 30 lap Iron Cowboy Classic event. Allen led much of the early laps before waging a battle with Briggs Danner for the race lead. Danner would make his move in lap traffic into the top spot.

Danner maneuvered around his “home track” and through lap traffic, saying in victory lane that his SpeedSTR experience at the speedway helped his decisions with the cars he had to pass late in the race.

A yellow flag reset the field with nine laps to go in the event. An intense battle for third came to an end when Alex Bright spun collecting Nash Ely. Tommy Kunsman, Colin White, and Damon Paul continued to race for the position in the final laps of the race while Danner and Allen drifted away.

Danner’s win is his first of the season at Action Track USA. It came over Chris Allen, Damon Paul, Tommy Kunsman, and Colin White.

Danner and Nash Ely won heat races for the Sprint Cars.

Steve Snyder Jr. has become known for his “Snyder Sliders” as Barry Angstadt likes to call them. Wednesday night, Snyder showed a whole new weapon in his arsenal; his ability to run the inside line. In a non stop 600 Sprint feature, Snyder came from mid pack to pass race leader Zach Weisenfluh on the inside with three to go on his way to his third win of the season.

Snyders victory came from the 12th starting position. Weisenfluh finished second, his best run of the season, followed by 14th place starter Christian Bruno in third. Sammy Martz and Jay Hartman rounded out the top five finishers.

*Side note* Three of the top five cars carried the number 24 in the 600 Sprint feature.

Heat race winners for the 600 Sprints were Sam Martz, Jay Hartman, and Eddie Strada. Jesse Maurer won the B Main.

Championship Energy Action Track USA will be back on Wednesday, July 14 at the Berks County oval. It’s the All Pro SpeedSTRs fueled by Vp Racing fules, the Hyper Racing/ EVO Injection 600 Sprints, and the All Star and Junior Slingshots. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. on July 14, with grandstand gates opening at 5:00. Warm-ups begin at 6 p.m. and qualifying heats will follow immediately after the hot lap sessions.
