ACTION TRACK USA ANNOUNCES NEW NAMING RIGHTS SPONSOR AT MOTORSPORTS SHOW 2024

With the unveiling of a new name brand sponsor, the Foley Action Track USA display at this year’s Motorsports was a busy place.

With the cars of several track champions on display, Richie Tobias spent most of his time answering questions about the new K20 C1 Honda Turbo charged power for the SpeedSTRs. “Something had to be done,” Tobias said of the engine issues that plagued this division last season. Engine failures kept several teams from competing in the weekly events at the Action Track whose season runs from May into August. Tobias spent the season trying to piece together equipment with parts that he had on hand. The new power plant will hopefully put the engine issues in the rearview mirror. Tobias expects about ten of the Hondas to be in competition this season, being used by several existing SpeedSTR teams. There will be a seventy pound weight difference offered to the older SpeedSTRs as the new and old are blended in the season’s competition.

Tobias also noted a thirty-three percent increase in Slingshot sales during this off-season. As the Slingshot competitors successfully advance into other levels of competition, this division is seen as a viable stepping stone for young racers who are looking to step up into other levels of competition. Tanner VonDoren is just one example of a former Slingshot driver who has been able to advance his career. After years of competition in quarter midgets, then Junior Slingshots and finally All Star Slingshots, VonDoren made a successful transgression into the stock car ranks. His most recent accomplishment came during the Friday night main event in the indoor racing at the PPL Center in Allentown, PA where VonDoren raced for win in the TQ main event with very little experience in that type of car. It was also his first ever indoor race since his quarter midget days,

The Foley Action Track USA season gets underway on Sunday, May 5th featuring SpeedSTRs, 600 Micro Sprints, Junior and All Star Slingshots. There will also be a Matinee show featuring the return of winged 270 Micro Sprints and Xcel 600 Modifieds.
The Short Track Super Series returns to the Foley Action Track on Tuesday, May 21st. This event was very well received last year in a race won by Mike Gular. On Sunday, June 16th, the USAC Eastern Storm returns to Kutztown in a double header event with the 600 micro sprints. Wednesday, June 19th features the Dirt Circus. The USAC East Coast Wingless Sprints will make two appearances – the first on Wednesday, July 10th and then again for the Dick Tobias Classic on Sunday, August 18th. The Xtreme Midget Series returns on Wednesday, August 7th. Thier inaugural appearance last season was well received by the Action Track crowd.

2024 looks to be a season full of excitement with the addition of Foley as a new sponsor. Foley is currently opening a new facility just a few minutes away from the track in Breinigsville, PA.
